Indian Institute of Science for Further Studies
Indian Institute of Science,Bangalore was established in 1911, July with the initiatives of Jamshedji Tata,Sir K Shesadri Iyer and Shri KrishnarajaWodeyer 4,the Maharaja of Mysore.The institute became a Deemed University in 1956 .

The eligibility for admission in the courses are as follows:
* Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering and Technology .
* Bachelor's degree holders in Science,Mathematics,Electronics,Statistics,Computer Science from an institute recognized by UPSC/AICTE as equivalent to B.E. or B. Tech.
* Bachelor's degree holders in Architecture,Design (for M Des program )
* Master's degree holders in Mathematics, Statistics,Instrumentation, Physics,Chemistry, Biology, (for M Tech program).
* Candidates should qualify in the respective paper in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) (for M Des program) and should have the valid score cards.

Instrumentation: Selection is based on GATE score and rank ..
Electronics Design & Technology: Post screening based on GATE marks, an aptitude test and interview are conducted in the month of April 2007. Selection will be strictly based on the basis of performance in the aptitude test and interview.
Computational Science: Aptitude test and interview are conducted during April after the screening is done on the basis if GATE score. Selection will be based on performance in the aptitude interview and test.
M DES Program : Design aptitude test and interview are conducted after screening based on GATE, CEED marks at the Institute during the month of April and selection will be based on performance in the aptitude test and interview.
