The team is part of the Global Engineering team of the Infrastructure businesses like Aviation, Energy, Oil & Gas and Water technologies, engaged in high-end design and analysis of Aircraft Engine components, Steam / Gas / Wind Turbines and Generators and mechanical drives for oil & gas applications.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Post graduate in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering with excellent academic record.

• 2 to 5 years of experience with sound knowledge of Fluid Mechanics/Dynamics, Heat Transfer and combustion.

• Strong knowledge of fundamentals of advanced Fluid Mechanics and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) especially gained through course/thesis work and/or experience in applying CFD codes.

• Excellent analytical skills and problem solving ability.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

• Strong commitment to deliver.

• Ability to work independently, with minimal oversight.

• Inclination to work on a wide variety of projects of interest to GE Energy.

• Passion for technology development and continuous learning.

 
Job Description

• Design, analysis and development of next generation advanced technology gas turbine combustion systems considering cost, operability, reliability and emissions working with a team of engineers

• Work through the complete cycle of CFD analysis right from CAD geometry creation, mesh generation, solution and post processing using tools like UG, ICEM, Gambit/ TGrid and Fluent.

• CFD analysis involving both non-reactive and complex reactive flow. In-depth physical interpretation of CFD results, propose design changes and preparation of design study reports with clear conclusions and recommendations.

• Actively contribute in developing state-of-the-art analyses methods for Combustor design and analysis.

• Strong interaction with the team members locally and worldwide to understand the project requirements and deliver results on time with superior quality maintaining seamless communication among the stakeholders.

• Interact with worldwide GE Combustion community to establish/communicate best practices, latest technical breakthroughs, and contributions

• Work with entire Gas Turbine Design team to assure system level approach to meet product goals

• Conceive ideas to solve aerothermal design problems

• Evaluate design of hardware and combustion system using experimental and computational techniques

• Meet schedule and deliver high quality analytical work

• Participate in laboratory testing of combustion system to validate aerothermal performance
