Designation Senior Performance Engineer
Job Description
The Senior Performance Engineer will be involved in creating and executing complex test plans and working interactively with
Product Development and Product Management to improve the speed and stability of the applications.
The ideal candidate must have a solid grasp of the product life cycle - from initial specifications through development,
testing, and deployment.
The ideal candidate will be able to effectively participate in cross-functional meetings, clearly articulate project risk
and provide concise recommendations to Development and Product Management.
The Senior Performance Engineer will also be expected to bring a breadth of Performance Engineering experience and best
practices to the company.
Utilize performance and load testing methodologies to improve and measure product quality by identifying potential
bottlenecks and system performance problems.
Develop test scripts to properly load / stress the system in a lab environment, and monitor, debug performance, and
stability problems.
Partner with the software development organization, technical operations to analyze system components and performance to
identify needed changes in the application design & production environment.
Forecast and project system load levels, and determine load / stress test methods to test the system to projected load
levels.
Mentor and provide guidance to more junior engineers of the team.
Desired Profile
Education : Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field or equivalent industry experience
Required Skills:
Extensive knowledge and experience with performance testing and methodologies using automated testing tools is an absolute
must. Knowledge of HP's Load Runner and Performance Center.
Self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, team-building attitude (be able to provide technical help to other members of the
performance team and to projects under test).
Additional experience in the performing of stress testing on web-based applications and thorough knowledge of web-based
architecture is necessary.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to successfully liaison with cross-functional groups.
Should be able to quickly assess requirements of a project, set performance goals and assess the scope of a project.
Must have experience in analyzing performance test data.
Must have experience in reporting test results to different functional groups and external and internal clients.
Adaptable to shifting priorities and working on multiple projects in a single quarter.
5+ years experience of hands-on scripting experience with HP Load Runner.
4+ years experience in Quality Assurance with solid knowledge of the financial industry's standard processes, protocols,
tools and methodologies.
Desired Skills:
C# custom-coding skills for LoadRunner.
Performance tool certification.
Experience with HP's Quick Test Professional.
