Designation Application Support Engineer
Job Description
Essential Function
The Application Support Engineer is responsible for the support and maintenance of eCTS applications. The post holder will
perform application go-lives and support the applications throughout their active live time and will ensure the provision of
100% customer focus at all times.
Key Accountabilities
Following training carry out work in accordance with relevant standard operating procedures and standards which may include
but not limited to:
Provide technical support for eCTS's deployed applications.
Perform integration application go-lives, configure and deploy applications under supervision of an Engineer and/or Technical
Lead.
Track status of incoming support issues and ensure each is addressed in a timely manner
Diagnose and fix production application problems, coordinating with project managers and engineers where necessary.
Perform periodic production system management and cleanup, such as archiving and cleaning up log files, report files, and
other application-generated data files
Execute Data Change Requests and System Change Requests for production systems
Provide programming support for application integration, data migration, and reporting projects under supervision of
Technical Lead
Specialize in technical support of specific applications when need arises
Communicate new releases of core products to the project teams
Adhere to ALL standard operating procedures of eCTS and Perceptive Informatics
Participate in PMD process.
Delivering a positive, memorable and meaningful service which exceeds the expectations of both the internal and external
customer.
Skills
Knowledge of software development languages and tools such as Jscript, VBScript, XML and SQL. TIBCO and Informatica is
desired but not required.
Knowledge of relational databases, preferably Oracle.
Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Ability to work and communicate in a project team environment.
Ability to interpret and question project requirements documentation.
Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.
Some knowledge of clinical data management process for FDA regulated companies is a plus. Familiarity with FDA regulations
such as 21 CFR Part 11 and GxP desirable.
Desired Profile
Education
Degree or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline,
Or equivalent work experience and have a demonstrable experience and interest in programming using any of the industry
standard languages.
Language Skills
A sound working knowledge of written and spoken English is required to ensure full communication within project teams and
complete understanding of project specifications, test plans and other project documentation.
Minimum Work Experience
Knowledge of working in a structured software development life cycle environment preferred but not essential.
