Job Description
Position
Configuration Engineer (SCM) - RM R&D India, Gurgaon
Information about the Function
The Software CM function is responsible for build, packaging and release activities for the product development unit. It also
involves scripting activities for packaging, installation and automation purposes.
Responsibilities for the Position
Support the local development team with a supportive Version control environment customized for their needs.
Baseline Management, Change control and end-user support for the developer community
Setup Build, packaging and release routines for the product development
Perform scripting activities to automate the build, packaging and other continuous integration activities
Be the custodian of the Development environment and act as interface to the IT admin
Desired Profile
Education
Bachelor of Engineering/MCA/MSc/BSc(Computer Science) or Diploma (Comp Engg)
Experience : 1 - 4 years
Technical Skills/Competencies
Mandatory Skills
Handled SCM activities in a product development environment.
Experience of working with version control tools. Knowledge of Rational Clearcase, GIT preferred.
Sound scripting skills (Shell, Perl, Python)
Exposure to Build tools such as Make, ANT, Jenkins/Hudson.
Experience of working in UNIX (HP-UX, Solaris, Linux) environment.
Optional Skills (Added Advantage)
Good admin level Unix knowledge
Database administration (Oracle, MySQL)
Knowledge of common 3PP's like oracle, java, compilers installation on UNIX platforms
Basic knowledge of Java, XML and Software Development Life cycle
Soft Skills/Competencies
Should be able to work with Logical/Analytical thinking ability and have the aptitude for problem solving and zeal for
innovative & quality solutions.
Attention to detail and Quality systems orientation
Good attitude, interpersonal skills must be a team player.
Be a self starter and able to work independently.
Ability to perform in a multi-tasking and team-oriented environment.
