External Description:
• Development of Connectivity Solutions for Database systems – Db2, SQL Server, Oracle etc.
• Influence and champion Connectivity frameworks (Software Development Kits) to enable productive development of Connectivity solutions. This would include frameworks necessary on our Development Tools as well as our Runtime-platform side.
• Influence product direction and architecture while developing our next generation Connectivity solutions. There is a significant future architectural direction (based on model-driven architecture) and this position involves influencing, defining and refining this for the needs of this product area.
• Sustaining product base by responding to reported problems, investigating the cause and working out solutions. Supporting Product Management on POC's and Customer engagements.
• Provide technical leadership focusing on research & development of new solutions while enhancing and maintaining existing products.
• Deliver high quality products.
• Work with a global team to achieve Release goals...
• Demonstrates good judgment in proposing, selecting methods and techniques for these solutions.
• Organizes own tasks and takes responsibility for progress and completion. Understands and manages priorities. Receives little instruction on day to day work except for general instructions.
• Rises above detail to see broader issues and implications for whole product/team. Involved in discussions on strategic issues.

Required Skills:
• Strong academic background - BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science from top schools.
• Strong background in product development particularly in middle-ware / framework level software. Good focus on performance and design issues and expertise with building large-scale enterprise products is desirable.
• Knowledge of Web Services – WSDL, generating and using stubs and interacting with Web Services.
• Knowledge of Microsoft technologies – C#, WCF (Windows Communication Frameworks) is a strong plus.
• Experience with concepts and interfaces of any Enterprise Application system such as MS Dynamics, SAP, Oracle E-business suite etc. is a strong plus.
• 3+ years of Enterprise Software Development experience with a strong technical background of complex software product development – at a Senior Engineer level or higher.
• Strong experience in C++/C. Experience in JAVA.
• Good background in RDBMS concepts, internals and usage.
• Experience with Data Integration, Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Enterprise Information Integration (EII) etc. are a strong plus.
• Experience working with Partners and across Organizations would be an added advantage.
• Capability of working with a wide range of complex computing environment
• Ability to apply abstract concepts and innovative ideas to business problems
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring, analyzing, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting systems and system related technology
• Excellent written & verbal communication and presentation skills.
• The candidate should have prior experience dealing with full product development lifecycles and multiple releases, preferably of large enterprise software products
