Designation Urgent opening for Scientist/ Sr Scientist- Process Safety & Engg
Job Description
Process Safety Scientist– We are seeking a self-motivated, creative and independent thinking individual to become part of our
team of Process R&D scientists. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory scale process hazards
evaluations using thermal analysis and other analytical techniques in support of the development of processes for the
preparation of active pharmaceutical ingredients for BMS' R&D programs at our Biocon-BMS research center in Bangalore as well
as the worldwide manufacturing network. The successful candidate will collaborate with project teams in the design and
execution of experiments that will enable definition of safe operating conditions and will utilize data in conducting process
safety risk assessments. The position requires a M.Sc. in synthetic organic, physical organic chemistry or chemical
engineering with 0-5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of pharmaceutical process R&D, reaction engineering and
application of kinetics and thermodynamics to process safety is a plus. Strong technical writing and oral communication
skills are required.
Process Engg Scientist –We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a sound knowledge of chemical engineering
fundamentals to join our team of Process R&D scientists. The successful candidate will be responsible for timely development
of safe processes for the preparation of intermediates or drug substances in support of drug development activities. Specific
unit operations that require investigation in this area include reactions, purification, distillation, crystallization,
separation, and drying. Development work includes experimental study of processes in the laboratory and their implementation
in the appropriate scale-up facilities. The qualified candidate will have a MS/ ME degree in Chemical Engineering. Previous
research experience in process development is a plus.
Desired Profile
DEGREE REQUIRED: M.Sc/ M.E Chemical Engineering or Equivalent .
