Designation Software Engineer (Hadoop)
Job Description
Design, develop and implement large scale analytics and data mining applications based on the Apache Hadoop platform. The
ideal candidate has experience working with the Apache Hadoop platform and with the design and development of distributed
systems. The role also requires research of popular analytics and data mining algorithms and implementations.
The candidate is expected to solve complex problems with initiative. The candidate is also expected to coach and guide junior
resources on the team.

Responsibilities
Implement Map-Reduce jobs for complex data processing tasks
Setup and implement distributed systems and components on local datacenter and on cloud computing platforms
Work with research team and architects to understand and implement the system
Research new technologies as needed and expand development skills
Develop test plans in conjunction with the test team
Technical Requirements:
Analytically strong engineers with a solid background in distributed systems and parallel frameworks
Java, Hadoop, Windows/Linux, Cloud Computing
Knowledge of atleast 1-2 scripting languages
Exposure to protocols like WebDAV, CIFS, HTTP
Exposure to Solr, Lucene, Cascading would be a bonus
Experience 3 - 6 Years
