Desired Candidate Profile
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field, or 2+ years equivalent software experience
* Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools: Ability to develop test plans/automated tests for web-based products
* Ability to programmatically/manually test the product, measure test coverage, develop the best automation, drive testability and diagnostic ability into the product, while promoting best practices in quality areas.
* Experience with functional, performance and stress testing.
* Fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
* Knowledge of modern best practices for professional software development including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
* Strong organizational and problem solving skills with great attention to detail, including the ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesize the results
* Ability to triage issues, react well to changes, work with teams and ability to multi-task on multiple products and projects.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills.
* Experience working with service oriented architectures and web based solutions.
* Experience developing automation tools and frameworks is a big plus.
* Javascript, UI testing a big plus.

Job Description
Amazon.com seeks an exceptionally motivated, capable, and driven Software Development Engineer- Test. In this role you will play a pivotal role to build and execute a streamlined QA process for a new business initiative. Your goal is to build a comprehensive test suite that will be utilized to validate the solution in a scalable and efficient way. In this role, you will have the opportunity to not just execute, but also design and define the QA product and processes, leveraging expertise from teams across Amazon's software platform. You will regularly work with the Product Managers, Project Managers and the development team to identify use cases and create test plans, define test strategies and create test cases to validate software design via manual and automated tests; these tests are applied throughout the development and launch cycles.
In addition you will debug problems, write automated tests with Scripting tools and/or user-level automated tools. SDET's at Amazon are excellent individual contributors capable of taking up tasks from start to completion with minimal help. You will be responsible for understanding the domain and the product in detail and coming up with the test strategy/planning, coming up with the test cases, driving the test case sign-off processes with the stakeholders, test execution and reporting.
At a strategic level, you will help drive the software development process towards quality-centric methodologies. You will also drive efficiencies in the QA process and invest appropriately in process changes, automation, tools, etc. in order to reduce the overall QA effort for the product.
